Attendance 2018 - 2019

One of the most important thing you can do for your child’s future is to make sure they go to school. By ensuring excellent attendance you are really helping your child to achieve the very best that they can.
The school attendance target for Charlestown Community Primary is 97%

Our attendance for 2018-2019 school year was 95.1%
52 children achieved 100% for the whole year – Well done
238 children achieved 97% and above

Throughout the year we reward excellent attendance in various ways.
Children receive 100% certificates and badges each Half Term.
Children with 97% to 100% are rewarded each term with an Attendance disco.

School starts at 8.50 promptly. There is a school breakfast club from 8am where children can come with parents. If the children are in year 5 or 6 they can attend on their own.
Arriving after 9.10am means a late mark in the register.
Arriving after 9.30 means an unauthorised absence mark in the register for the morning session.

What does the law say?
If your child is between 5 and 16 years of age and is a registered pupil at a school, it is your legal responsibility to make sure they attend regularly and on time.
